I bought a second receiver, it doesn't move the servos when I turn it on. Which seems right. There must be something wrong with the first receiver. It certainly cost me a lot of money.
My transmitter takes like 30 seconds or longer to bind with either receiver.
PS
Posting this a day later after taking my buggy to Revelation Raceway in Ontario.
I had problem last night with the steering servo (brand new HS-965MG) losing control of my buggy in a turn. The buggy went straight... This is with the second receiver. A week earlier, with another receiver (same radio), I was having difficulties turning my Truggy with a HS-645MG servo. I then thought it was my battery or servos saver adjustment (which was a bit loose). At Revelation Raceway last night, I put my new spare HS-7955TG in place of the HS-965MG and didn't have a problem the rest of the evening. Remembering back to when I bought my RC8 RTR, the MX-3FHSS just hated the stock servos - they quivered and buzzed.
Finally, here's what I think may be the problem. The frame rate of the receiver isn't compatible with the servos I have (and probably a lot of servos out there). I came to this conclusion after reading about the DX3R's frame rate adjustment.

I think the Airtronic MX-3FHSS has a frame rate of 100hz (not sure). Fast. Perhaps too fast for some servos.
All the problem servos were analog, the HS-7955TG is digital (no problems).
My advise, don't buy this radio unless you're sure it's compatible with your servos. I think it's a good radio, but just not matching up with what I have. It has been an expensive lesson. $250 for the radio and extra receiver, $200 for a blown up engine, tore up a couple of cars and I've bought about 4-5 new servos trying to get things to work. I've spent over $700 on this voyage (not all lost) and I'm now looking to buy something else. Probably a DX3R...
I don't recommend this radio to upgrade a RTR vehicle with less expensive servos.
I'm not a RC Radio technician - just a consumer offering a word of caution.
