Kyle,
I watched your video, all 9min. 10 seconds. Excellent job, I was impressed with the flight time.
At 5 min. 40 sec. or so, you came a little to close to the trunk, and set the heli down and walked it
back to safe territory. Good reaction on that. Best to set it down, when in potential trouble. You
have the proportional and gyro gain dialed in very well. I didn’t observe any tail wagging and
your yaw control was very good too.
You may want to take it up a little higher to get out of the ground effects. You fought that a
couple times. You’re ready for it, trust me. Take ‘er up to about 4 feet and you’ll see a difference.
Also, when you feel comfortable, take off the training gear. The air flow created by the main
rotor blades, bounces off the ping pong balls and will make the heli bounce around a little. If you
watch them closely, you will see them spinning around and moving up and down slightly. With
the training gear off, it will be even easier to control.
You’re doing great, just one step at a time...
Sorry about the second flight not doing so well, but you are well on your way.
Take care and Blue Skies,
Dave / Choppersrule
I tried slowly afew times to get it alittle higher but I needed new blades and the heli would wobble when I got a little higher. I might try going without the training gear since I lost 1 of the holders off the skids.
