On the attitude issue: Sometimes the most knowledgeable people have a little bit of attitude. There's only so many times you can answer the same question and not get tired of it. Sometimes a little patience with a guy like that will yeild you some very solid info, wheras the nice guy may be giving you answers that he really doesn't know enough to give.
