It's an oversimplification to say, "just ease back on the throttle stick" when it comes to outfitting a new airframe. Which engine you select will significantly affect overall weight, wing loading, maximum flight times, lateral balance, and Center of Gravity.
I absolutely agree but my point is that the .46 will work if he already has it. It will be a quick little plane with that engine though so throttle management would be important. Personally, something like a .46-LA would be plenty to make a great flying plane.
