Default Engine Options around 35-40cc for 1/4 scale T-Craft

My winter build is going to be a Lanier 1/4 scale Taylorcraft, clipped (83" wing), with smoke system. I'm not looking for hovering at 1/3 throttle kind of power, but a notch or two beyond scale. I'm thinking this bird will come in at 16# give or take, so I've been thinking the Brillelli 36GT would be a good fit. RTF weight of this engine is 50oz, not bad. Compared with a Zenoah G38 at 71oz., it looks even better.

Since I may never see an engine from Brillelli, I'm looking at other options.

I'd rather stick with American made, which obviously limits my selection, but I'm not closed to imports altogether (call me old fashioned but I'd rather support the guy on my own soil when possible).

I've also thought about converting my own, but have no clue where to start there (besides the conversion forum).

I was also thinking that the Brison 2.4 would be a good fit however it frankly chaps me to no end to pay $500 for an engine that I have to follow up by spending another hundred on a muffler. That's why the Zenoah and Brillelli are so appealing - price is decent and includes the muffler.

Thanks for any input.
