Hi Crash...
I got two Tenergy 6 cell 4200mah packs about two months ago. They work very good i get about 20 minutes of run time in my truck.I use a vision peak ultra charger and charge them at 4.2 amps and it always takes one hour to charge(which means they are taking all 4200mah) they peak at around 9.65v and after they cool about 8.90v. I do keep a fan on them when charging to keep them cool....Anywho i would recommend them they seem to work well.
Charging above 9.6 volts will quickly destroy the batteries. They will start venting and will build internal resistance and will get hot on discharge.
We now have a total of 4 Tenergy 3800 MaH and 4 Tenergy 4200 MaH (plus my neighbor has 2 3800s, too). They have been running very well so far. They have good power and run well. I have been limitting my charge rate to 1 amp, after a few cycles at .4 amp to break them in. We don't race so I can start charging batteries on Thursday and have enough batteries for the whole weekend. I usually only charge four, two for me, and two for my son. I used to use a fan, but now I charge them inside since it's been over 100 degrees here and even hotter in the garage. Since I run (and charge) my batteries after they have completely cooled, I should get good use out of them, although they will not give me the "racer's edge"
Let us know how yours hold up.
Joe
