Default WorldStar 40 ARF modifications, and general recommendations.

Hi folks.
Last weekend I was out flying my WorldStar 40 ARF. After two flights I noticed that the root of the wing flexed while carrying it back to the stand. After some investigation I found that one of the two root ribs were starting to come apart. Glad I noticed, otherwise the wings could have clapped in flight. Needs modification!

The WorldStar comes with optional flaps. These flaps will not give the right amount of throw. Full flaps in my plane would be about 20 degrees. Needs modification!

So here is what I plan to do:
1) Remove flap servo from the center of the wing. Apply a strip of fibreglass cloth about 6 cm wide around the root of the wing. Should strengthen the root.

2) Replace the flap hinges with robart pin hinges, angeled in a V shape. Remove the flap linkages. Install two equal flap servos in the wing panel for more throw on flaps (Up to ~90 degrees).

Recommendations would be:
Do pre flight checks!
- First check of the day: Check that all linkages and hinges are in good shape. Check that bolts and nuts are fastened. Check for correct movement of all controls.
- Before every flight: Check for wing root flexing! Especially if you haven't reinforced wing root with fibre glass.

If you guys want me to, I'll add pictures and descriptions as I move on with modifications. May take a few days before I can start, because I'm waiting for supplies.

Also, feel free to add things to my list of pre-flight checks!
