Matorro's non-window box has better dimensions (thinner, shorter, longer) suits long-barrel tanks enabling them to fit scale-barrel-tanks like their Tiger and KT, whereas Heng Long's retail box limits the length of the barrel, even though it is a larger box theres a lot more polystyrene around the HL than the Matorro.

End result: Matorro boxes fit scale barrels, but don't have quite as much packaging/protection.
