Tim,

Thanks for the Happy Birthday, I appreciate it. Just keep looking for the 400 motor, it'll show up somewhere.

I seriouly doubt that the roar of the plane is from the blade tip breaking the sound barrier. But you could do the math and take motor rpms' and blade length and see what the tip speed is. You know, Pie R Squared. My HBK2 is only doing about 175 MPH, not close to the sound barrier, but can cut your finger off in a heartbeat with CF blades. Always be respectful to any plane or helicopter. I've got scares to prove it.

I'd have to hear it, in order to tell ya what it may be. But, doesn't sound right to me being as loud as you suggest..

Later, and keep 'er going,

Happy Birthday Dave.

I have to admit that the stock 400 motor on my su-27 is around here somewhere, but the plane has a turnigy 1900 kv outrunner turning a 7x6 apc prop. It sounds like a gasser in the air. When it's right it's a hoot, but not exacyly a queit flyer. I've been told that the roar is the product of the tips of the prop breaking the speed of sound(?). I don't take it out much.
