I see you've decided on the Aeroworks Good Choice indeed.

It's about as realistic as a simulator lol. I think it's a great tool to improve on your flying. You'll be much more prepared and it's definitely a great tool when your mind says "hey, I wonder what would happen if I did this".

I use it a lot for my orientations, now I can do a knife edge in and direction without having to worry about which way I need to move the rudder.

I think you'll find that it was worth the money spend.
