I had the same concerns when I bought mine. That was 3 years ago and you can still get spares now.
It is a great buggy for the money and IMO the best entry level buggy available for under $300.
There are areas that need upgrading but its not too expensive.
The radio isn't great, get the CNC chassis braces and the hyper 8 CNC hubs (get of ebay) fit straight on. After that its pretty much bomb proof.
A word of advice. look for the .21 engined version, its cheaper, the engine is more robust and its race legal.
