RE: How to prevent broken motor bushing??
Hey shrike,
I have been using the same main motor for months on end now...so it's something with your heli or setup.
It sounds like the gear mesh is set too tight between the motor pinion and the main gear.
When you get your new stuff, make sure to set the mesh properly. Most people suggest taking a piece of regular paper, and inserting it in between the pinion and the main gear, and then push the motor into mesh with the main gear with the paper in between them, and tighten the motor mounting screws.
I have a pretty good feel for it, and I just eyeball it, you should be able to have just the slightest amount of play in the main gear to pinion when you move the main gear by hand without moving the pinion.
I usually put a drop of oil in each bushing about every 5 flights or so, and that seems to help too.
Hope this helps, and good luck with it.
