When I started this hobby seven years ago I soloed in june, flew a real B-17 then had to build one. The only building experiance I had was a stick fourty plus. By october I started my B-17. I had no experiance building any real plane , but wanted one so bad nothing was going to stop me. It did take me two years to complete and during some slow times I did build a sig fazer and two four star sixty's. About three months before I was ready to cover my bomber I called Don Smith and said " hey Don how do you go about putting monokote on a plane like this" He laughed at me and then told me about fiberglassing. I further gained building skills by building a Top-Flight C-47 and glassed it for practice. I Have been in love ever since the first flight of my B-17. I have had to small mishaps,a few weeks to repair but each time it allowed me to make mods that I wouldn't have done other wise.
