The plane I use my homemade nosering on is wooden and supports the nose ring.

If you need to use one with a cowl, look at the Focus Sport thread, there are details of beefing up a cowl to support a nosering.

Or...you can buy the hyde mount with the integrated nosering (Type ARIA).
