Jim / Wnuk,

I would recommend shims, reason being! If don't shim the blades, when tightening down the grips to make them the appropriate tightness. One grip compared to the other may bend more in one direction, than the other, top or bottom of the grip, up or down. This could throw off the tracking and cause major headaches.. Been down that street.. Take the time to find something around the house to make your own shims. Plastic, metal or what ever.. Only takes a few extra minutes to do this.. I use plastic and works very well.. Just look around the kitchen for something to take apart..

Quick question for you guys. I spent the weekend tuning up the B400 since wind and rain had me grounded. In trying to balance and CG the baldes, I came to the conclusion that they were just too far apart and too much tape would be needed. So today I bought a set of Align 325 mm blades (woodies). It seems to me that the thichkness is smaller then those of the B400 so they are looser in the blade grips, maybe about 1/16" smaller. Do you think tightening the blade grips down on them might be pushing it or should I maybe look to shim them instead? As a side note, these Align baldes were nearly perfect right out of the package.
