I mounted mine using the these 20mm standoff. This gave ma about 1/4 inch gap from the end of the cowl to the back side of the spinner backing plate. I will post dimensions tonight when I get home. My flight style is slow but I like plenty of thrust. That is what led me to the 18-6W. I also feel that it gives the additional drag the 110 can use when landing........ helps counteract the floating.
These are the standoff I used.

Also I did a couple of mods that I think are very worth while.
1. Added a hatch to the bottom of the fusalage to access the area where the gas tank is located. This made it much easier to install and pull the tank and also to install the ingnition unit.
2. Installed an alunimum bar across the landing gear about 2 inches below the mount plate. The made the gear much more rigid. Without it the gear distorted easily.
3. Reinforced the floor of the fusalage from the former forward of the landing gear mount to the location where the wing struts bolt in. I also built a frame around the landing gear mount block using 3/4 inch balsa triange stock and plywood. The point of this was to spread the load from the stiffer landing gear.
I also located the battery for the ignition in the area next to the servos to keep it away from confined areas for better cooling during field charging. Note: my first battery blew up destroying the fuel tank compartment when it got hot enough to melt the insulation of the leads that were laying against it shorting the battery. Yes it was loud and there was a small fire. The rebuild resulted in the hatch that has proved to be a great asset.
