Default RE: Black Magic v2 builder's thread! *Updated*

ORIGINAL: petec

Finished the wings up last night. Ready to cover they weigh 290 and 292 grams. I little lighter than the last pair I built which came in over 300 grams each.

I need to finish capping the stabs, rudder, put in the hard points and glue the canopy to it's frame and it will be ready to get covered too.

I'm thinking about using the BVM hatch latches on this one instead of bolts to hold the canopy on. Any thoughts on this?

I really hate sanding the blocks around the fin.

I'll post this over on the Custom Airframes forum so there is info there too.
Pete, we've been using the BVM hatch latches for a few years. You should layup some carbon cloth on the turtle deck former where the pins go and/or add some reenforcement wood behind the former to strengthen the pin holes...

your not using the carbon composite formers - right ?
