Can’t tell from your pictures but typically you would have the ribs that support the gear mount made of light ply or a plywood doublers on each side of the balsa ribs. I like to make a good mechanical fit of the mount into the rib to reduce the amount of glue needed. I use plywood for the gear mounts because I find them stronger than a hardwood beam.
