Hi

One french hobbyist made a VTOL plane with 4 rotors/props
VTOL 4 rotors/props are vertical
Transition : tilted props (2 carbon tubes rotating = per pairs)
Horizontal cruise : 4 props classical
THe plane aspect is traditional : wings + tail surfaces
