Default RE: PORTING RYOBI 31

[8D]I oil um really good then spin with a drill before I put gas in um. Then break in slow and use the radio so's there's distance between me and it.[X(] The way I've heard it if the ring(s) are pinned you don't need the post cuz the ring end is what will most likely grab the port. But I tried intentionally positioning the gap at the exhaust port on one ( a 25 Homie sans post) a couple years ago and had no trouble and that block is still flying. That reminds me. I've gotta get the guy who has it to pull the muffler to see if the gap is still where I left it. Plus I have a box of spare 25cc blocks in case of worst. Now the 30's (old style at least) have pinned rings and guess what. No post. I think you're right tho-it's not good practice if you can't experiment. Speaking of 30cc homelite did you know Tower's charging $65 ship surcharge on the bigger arfs. They had a parts 120 GP Big Stik for $28 the other week but $65, plus the usuall 9.99 [sm=angry_smile.gif] to ship. Almost fell out of my chair. I e-mailed um that you can Greyhound something like that for about $25 but I don't think anybody was home.l
