what I painted Nord Icelandia and the other boats in was Plasticote brand spray-enamel that comes in 500ml rattle cans.

first to go down was 3 coats of red-oxide colored primer, followed by 3 coats of gloss red, followed by 3 coats of clear acrylic of the same brand, this lasted well until Nord Icelandia developed a leak, so the affected area had to be sanded to the fibreglass base below the timber. this was then re-done with grey primer over the lower section, again 3 coats, and once the black trim line was put on, (using 10mm vinyl tape), the hull was again sprayed with clear acrylic.
