Do not throw away all your empty Humbrol Paint lids !

Apart from Humbrol Paints being excellent stuff, those cute paint lids of genuine steel, are masterpieces of their own.

I made a Excellent working 2:nd stage Silencer, using two of those lids and some 7mm Brass Tubing.

Diameter of tubing should match the diameter of the outlet nozzle of the muffler.

I used soft solder which is more than adequate for a second stage silencer.

Connection between muffler (i hate that word), and the silencer, should be done, using a silicone hose.

I think those lids can be used for engines up to .40 size (mine was .21).

If anyone wonders why one would ever need a second stage silencer, well then you don't need it.

I managed to reduce noise to a very very low level without loosing much power.

The only disadvantage is: when someone else is flying or if there is much traffic on the nearby road, i cannot hear the engine

When the engine idles, it makes a lot less noise than my wifes hair-dryer!
