Great points . . The 170CDI would not typically be used in a 'Sport' style airplane (we can spec other sizes and type of engines to perform well in Sport planes with out the expense of a YS170CDI). As Atul mentioned, Giant scale and Pattern (which is really ONLY where you would use a 170CDI) are totally different animals. Only a Giant Scale pattern plane would fly anything like a pattern plane . Giant Scale aeros fly great, but they aint no Pattern plane ! We choose our weapons

JB - speaking of a "maching plane" for the 170CDI, can you suggest one? The Focus 2 is an option but what are the others? And where can we get them? Any pointers would be appreciated.

Sorry Atul . . I don't really understand your question . . what is a "Maching plane" ? If it's "matching plane" for the 170CDI . . I would think any 2M plane on the market designed for GP.
