If I'm correct ( please correct me if not ), the plate is hinged to the flap with normal hinges, and the one of rods is connected to the plate and the other is to the flap, making the same movement ( by the same servo ).The incidence of the flap is adjusted by the difference in lenght between the two rods and/or the position on the servo's arm ....The two side tubes making the movement of the flap equal on the both ends.

Please excuse for jaming your fine thread, with my insistence.
