Great idea..but in this case..I would prefer to cut the slots about a 1/4 in short and fold back the coating to be inside the fuselage edge. This arf does not have the smooth
formed slots like my TOC1 YAK has. See attached picture of YAK with finished slots for wings. (green circle)
