If you are buying from Home Depot or Lowes I'd stay away from the white EPS and go with the pink or blue, it's much stronger and breaks cleaner. On the other hand, if you can get your hands on the white "Falcon Foam" EPS I'm using now I'd go that route. I love this stuff. You might also try looking in the dumpster behind furniture or appliance stores as I think they package those things in this same dense EPS. Also try construction dumpsters as this stuff is used in rafters and such.
