i'am a sponsored 1/8th and 1/10th off road gas driver. mugen/ associated. i travel all over the country and race against all the pro drivers and none and i mean none of them use hitec radios or servos. hitec has been around 12yrs if there lucky. jr futaba been around 35yrs. hitec are the worst in the business. bottom line. on the food chain of rc stuff there the bottom.
Really not sure the fact that it is a hitec radio will mean it will go WOT when the motor is running will it?
Personally Hitec is my first choice for servos and have never had issue with any of their products. Perhaps it may be the fact that I am not a pro driver sponsored (by Futaba or JR) that I use Hitec - not sure.
But to the topic at hand - I am pretty sure a new radio would not resolve his WOT issue.
