That's about it and it should get you flying.
Probably the other thing you want to do is to set up dual rates. The DX7 manual is good about describing this. Set both to one swithcn (elevator or aileron). Set you your throws with it position 0 as you want htem, then set the switch to position 1. The LCD will show you which poistion you are in. Then increase the throws for position 1. When testing, hold the ailerons far left or right and toggle the switch - you should see the ailerons move more when in position 1 than when in postion 0.
After that, go to the field and fly. Make adjustments based on your flying style and that should cover it. You can also try out liner versus exponential rates as well.
