Default Red flags and Tx channel markings

Actually the band flags and /or channel # tags on Tx's is part and parcel of the AMA frequency plan and this could well be used by the current AMA insurance company to deny coverage. Most particularly if two Trannys were switched on and one or the other was not properly identified by the tags/flag resulting in a shoot down causing actionable liability.

The flag/tags are as follows:

27Mhz No band flag. A single color coded flag identifieng the six channels.

50Mhz No band flag. Number tags from 00 to 09 identifing the ten channels

53Mhz No band flag. Two color coded flags identifing the eight channels.

72Mhz Red band flag. Number tag from 11 to 60 identifing the fifty channels.

75Mhz Yellow band flag. Number tag from 61 to 90 identifing the thirty channels.

There is an additional band but like Dennis I am to lazy to go look it up. If I recall correctly it is a band on 49Mhz and has a much more restricted max output limit. Therefore not usable but for toys and robotics and I don,t recall marking requirements if any.

I use four synth Tx's and this is what I do. Just make up a tag for each different Rx crystal that I own (about 25) this just a rectangle of wood glued to a clothes pin channel number hand painted on and on the edge of the rectangle is glued the red flag (yes you can order them from just about any dealer that sells radios). Ok the little soldiers are all lined up clipped to a string and whatever channels I am going to use on any given day and extra crystal I will take the appropriate flag/clips is grabbed then just clipped on the tx carry handle. Totally within the AMA guidelines and convienent. In this way I never have to listen to anyone ***** at the many fields I visit and yes for the many times I fly alone or with just a Bud or two I don,t bother.
