RC toy's found at Radio Shack and similar toy stores often use 49Mhz as an alternate, so you can race their products against each other. They rarely display the exact frequency they are using, only 27Mhz or 49Mhz.
By the way - just since I don't have the channel number flag on my Tx, doesn't mean I don't display it. My frequency pins are made from clothes pins as described above with my name, and channel. When I'm not flying, they are on the Tx handle. When I'm ready to fly, they go on the frequency board, or, when the board is not in use, I leave it on the Tx handle.
I haven't quite decided how to do my pins for the new Tracker II yet.
