I had the MiniMag as my second plane and have become a big Multiplex fan ever since (amongst others). They do exactly what they say they will on the tin and with a budget brushless motor you can have a superb plane that flys well and is extremely durable compared to most of the competition and would highly recommend it !!!
When you get used to it you can the increase the throws and move the CoG back to liven the plane up and make it more responsive.
The other to consider may be the Hobbyzone T28 Trojan which looks and flies nicely but just don't think it'll take the same punishment as the MiniMag nor be quite so easy to repair.
