I have even been know to have to break ice when duck hunting down in the central valley so don't let Chuck tell you it doesn't get cold there.
A few days ago I took the dog outside before getting ready for work and there was ice. I've been lazy and haven't turned the sprinkler timer off yet. The poor dog... all of her toys were frozen stiff and she wasn't happy. In January that would make sense but this is only October. Kinda weird for this neck of the woods. Of course it is back in the 80's today.

Anything is a welcome relief from summer right now though. I don't know how you do it down there in Vegas. I hate the 105 degree days here. When I was down in your area in July it was 105 at night. Sure there was a breeze but it felt like a hair dryer.

That -20 stuff up in the Northern states doesn't sound fun. I've flown in the morning when it was 20 degrees and it hit 2 degrees up at Shave Lake a couple years ago while I was there in that cold spell but negative does not sound good.

Speaking of duck hunting... just got a great golden retriever puppy. I haven't hunted since I was a kid but I think she'd do well with a little maturity and training. I may have to give it some thought.
