You should check out the long PTS thread where most of this is already covered.
Most ARF's are exactly as you received your plane... it's up to the pilot to set things up properly.
Have you joined a club yet?
If not do so, and find someone who will help you trim out and maiden the plane.
If this is your first RC plane, take instructions. Most clubs provide this for free, and you can often start off with a club trainer to save wear and tear on your plane.
Finally get an instructor who is familiar with the PTS. Often those who are not, will poo-poo the plane.
It's a good trainer but YOU MUST have help with it to get started and through your first flights...
Otherwise it's lifespan may be measured in seconds!
