Not that we know of.
Unless I missed somthing in the bylaws, it looks to me like it COULD happen. It says that the nominees are chosen by majority vote, but it doesn't seem to appear to me that they MUST approve all 3 if 3 (or more) are nominated and assuming all meet the qualifications. Am I missing something there?
We know of at least one, Horrace Cain
I've seen references to that, I believe, but wasn't aware that it was as recent as last year. I'm not sure that I'm comfortable with the EC having the authority to exclude nominated individuals from the ballot, especially if there is a loophole in the rules that doesn't require them to fill the ballot if three or more individuals are nominated. That was the primary point of my initial message.
So are you satisfied with things as they are now? If not, what would you suggest?
Run offs could be conducted with on line voteing at a fairly low cost.
Yes, they could. But that means some open members would not be able to participate. I can't imagine that all ~135K members have internet access. I would hazard a quess that of the ~11K that voted last year there is a reasonable percentage that don't have access. How would that be fairly dealt with?
