The Kadet is so light and the wing so big that u really don't need a large engine. A .40 will fly it.
I too, have seen a perfect match with the OS 70 Surpass and the Saito 72.
You need the extra "bump" to overcome a grass field that may need mowing.
A 40 will not ever get you over and up on a other than asphalt/cement runway.
