Default RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!

Don't even want to admit this in a public forum but my Sukhoi had a meeting with terra firma via a volley ball net. I took my Sukhoi to a local private lake camp out. The guys I was with really wanted to see this plane fly. We went to the beach where there is a big parking lot. I took off and flew a fairly aggressive flight routine for my audience and after about 8 minutes decided to land. I noticed that there was no wind and the plane was coming in a little hot so I lifted back up and decided to lengthen my approach to bleed off speed. I was so focused on my plane and being out on a long approach, I totally blocked out the fact there was a beach volley ball net in my path. The beach was vacant and nobody was around except my buddies. Before I could react the plane flew right into the net, broke the 4x4 post off and wrapped the plane in the net. I feared significant damage but was surprised how much the net collapsing saved my plane. I broke the cowl up pretty good, broke some of the firewall ribs and snapped the rudder in half. Everything is fixed. Replaced/repaired broken pieces (even fiberglass reinforced the engine box just to make sure). Fiberglassed the cowl but don't know if bondo would be a good thing to use for body filler prior to painting. I realize I could just get a cowl but this gives me an opportunity to pick up a new skill. Guess I learned my lesson flying giant scale at a make shift airfield. I think I will stick to my dedicated air strip. Couple of questions:

1.) Should I be concerned with the strength of the engine box. All pieces were found and glued back together along with fiberglass reinforcement?

2.) Is there a bondo or body filler that would be better for my fiberglass cowl?
