The way I marked the wing tips was to install the wings on the wing tube without the body, then place the wing against a wall with the wing tips equal distance from the wall with the wing root touching the wall. Now measure from the wall to the balance point on the wing tube - ie front half. Transfer the same distance to each wing tip. Found this easier than using a string. Don;t remember now exactly what that measurement was.
