Default what sim is the most useful to learn to fly?

Another vote for RealFlight G2.

I used it to teach myself to fly, no club, no instructor, no nothing... The flights before I bought the sim were short but exciting, and after about 4 hours of RealFlight I started logging the same number of landings as take-offs at the local field.

Someone said they had trouble finding the runway with the sims. You have to stay fairly low to the ground so you can keep the background features in view. I you see nothing but sky, you have no idea where you are. That's great for practicing snaps and 8-point rolls, but the idea is to learn the pattern and land the thing. Also staying close to the ground sharpens your reaction time...

I think it handles the wind settings pretty well too...

Just my 3 cents.
