Bobcat in Tuscon
After reading continual posts on "what is the best sport jet?" I thought I would add my .02 on my experience flying the BVM Bobcat XL.
I flew the Bobcat / P-120 combo over thirty times in Tuscon and in a word, I'm a believer. This is not a direct comparison to the Hotspot, Kangaroo, or Topcat. I feel that they are apples and oranges. I would consider the Bobcat to be the top of open engine class of airplanes available today.
The airplane is extremely stable especially at slow speeds and when coupled with the P-120 has incredible vertical penetration.
It is effortless when inverted and does some pretty amazing snap manuevers. It is much more pattern like than other jets I have flown and is capable of the most incredible point/slow rolls I have seen. It was nice to blow the dust of the old rudder stick again!!!
The bottom line is I had a great time flying this bird and look forward to doing it again this weekend at L.A. Jets.
The intent of this post was not to slam the other open engine class jets. Jets are like women-- There all good!!!
I would like to thank Debbie and Clay Sherrow for a great event in Tuscon.
