Default Limiting Robart Cylinder Movement

I wanted to know what people thought of this method of limiting a Robart 5/8 dia. cylinder (30# force). At this point, the cylinder has too much travel for my needs.

I think I can unscrew the end of the pushrod. I can then put a washer there and screw the end back in. The washer will then be held in place. I will then make a block of wood that will sit on top of the cylinder. As the cylinder retracts, the washer would come down and hit the wood block. This would effectively limit the travel of the cylinder.

I'm going to try and attach Robart's drawing of the cylinder so that this explanation will hopefully make more sense. I want to know if any sees any problems with this method.

Thanks,
Herb
