I'm getting set up to start on a Sure Shark build which will be covered with silk and Varethane water-based polyurethane. I've read that sanding sealer helps the balsa resist any deformation due to the water in the water-based polyurethane. Is this critical? I've only seen mention of sealer in some of the threads regarding this covering method.

Appreciate any input.
