RE: E-flite Deuces Wild 25e2 ARF
Our final good weekend of the flying season to make a trip to the club field came on November 2nd. My pilots, Paul Weigand and Lynn Bowerman, had a chance to test out the Deuces Wild while I worked the video camera. The plane flew great and was very powerful with the Power 32 motors! After the first landing, the right retract must have settled a bit because it became stuck on our next two flights. We belly-landed without issue using full flaps and power off. The Deuces Wild can perform many aerobatics and really sounds great in the air!
Although I cut off 1/4" of the ends of the Robart gear mains, it was apparently not enough. I would recommend cutting off 3/8" from the ends or lift the retract mechanisms up on washers so that the wheels can settle into the wells without pressure. My right retract became stuck because it pressed into the wing and could not reverse itself. It is nice to know that the Deuces Wild can be belly-landed without issue.
