Default RE: Another Clark Spitfire in Australia

Well if anyone is still looking at this thread ....... I have cheated! I have not had the time to do anything extra with the Spitfire or the Seafury ssssssoooooooo ....... A Clark Spitfire came up for sale that was completed some time back and I bought it. It is actually one of John Clark's earlier models with the older style engine with the mechanical ignition advance and the cable aileron link. I have re-tensioned the aileron cable with slight DROOP to allow lifting during flight. I will see what the power is like and I may install my newer engine with the electronic ignition advance. Below are the photo's as she is now, dressed up as a MK XII with the eliptical wing tips and fixed tail wheel. I have read that 2 MK XII's had the full eliptical wing tips so they are staying for now at least. I just want to get it in the air! Things that needed done were re-application of the silicon on the fuselage formers and mounts at the front for the fuel tank. The fuel tank had to be thoroughly cleaned out from the GREEN slime inside and replacement of the fuel hosing. I will give it a quick test flight before I go all in and change the aileron cabling for rigid rods to take out the slop. Anyway I will post a link to YOUTUBE when I get it uploaded.
