Default RE: Best and fastest prop jet??

Dualist doesn't quite fit the profile of a prop jet

The Cermark Jets are pretty quick considering how large and draggy they are. Most tend to top out around 120-125 mph. A few have gone faster.

One thing here...... if you are thinking ARF for a speed plane...... your choices are going to be very, very limited.

You will have to build to get anything decent.

Prop jet wise, the Juno F-20 is very quick. I enjoyed that plane a good deal.
If you can find one, the old Royal F-4E is good. GP F-4E is not too bad, but not any faster than the Cermark jets.
GP Patriot XL is not too bad... a few of those have topped out around 130ish.

If you are just looking for sleek, fun, smooth and fast....

Hunt down a good 1985ish vintage pattern aircraft. (Typically under 800sqin wing)
Decent set of retracts
Jett FIRE-90LX engine
11x8 prop

T2A-MkII, Atlanta, Citation, LA-1, Aurora, Atlas (designs with internal RE pipe setup - best speed)

EU-1A, Brushfire (if you want jet-looks, one of these two)

Bridi XLT is a bit larger but is a great flying aircraft, and fairly quick.

Side exhaust options... ("Small" size pattern ships from late 70s to early 80s)
Blue Angle, Curare, Tiporari, Intruder, Patricia, Dirty Birdy, UFO, Deception (can be built RE too), Trouble maker, Phoenix 6-7-8, Dirty Birdy, Compensator (my last compensator was set up as RE with a pipe tunnel canopy), and a host of others.

Many of these are indeed currently available as wood or glass/foam kits. Carolina Custom aircraft is one source, search the classic pattern forum for many others.
