Default RE: Black Magic VF3 Build Thread

Guys, thank you for your kind words. Really, this has been a really tough time as I am sure you can all imagine. I don't get a lot of time to go out flying, and actually, don't have much of a desire to go flying anymore. But with all that is going on, I need some sort of break from time to time, and when I take out the Black Magic, it feels like I'm going out to the field not just with Dad's last airplane, but in a sense, with Dad.

I remember when you had that conversation with my Dad Mike. For the most part we had just talked about building one, he had been interested from the beginning, but since neither of us were involved in Pattern anymore (variety of reasons) we never decided to pull the trigger on one. Anyway, more and more he talked about the plane, how he would build it, what he would cover it with, etc. Not all that unusual really, there probably hasn't been a model designed that he and I hadn't talked about building, it's just something we did, it was how we related since I was eight or so. He called me up one day and said, "So, do you want a Black Magic?" but before I could answer he followed, "... should be here in a few weeks." That was the day he called you, he remarked about how nice of a guy you were and how long you had talked. He really enjoyed building that plane, and we had planned possibly another. I still want another one, but I will have to do that solo now.

I apologize for hijacking the thread and bringing it to a standstill. I honestly didn't mean to change the subject, but I did want to comment on the plane and respond to the kind words.

Anyway, I'll try to get a couple of pics with the motor and esc installation tomorrow if there is any interest. It's nothing new, but it might help those who are still in the middle of the build.

Regards,

Tom M
