i am not sure what parts i need because i need the buttons to be atleast 5ft wirless.

please any help would be much apreicated
I don't know what type of controller you have have experience programming but if you're open, check this out:

http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/fold...30-rf2500.html

It's only $49.00

I also suggest looking at AllegroMicro for motor control IC's. Depending on what kind of power you need to run five motors than you're going to need some "smart" motor driver IC's hooked to a microcontroller. TI also has a MSP430 development kit that is somewhere between $49 and $99. If you choose that MSP430-RF2500 you're probably going to be forced to use all MSP430 type kits/parts for your microcontroller and Zigbee transceiver.

By the way Allegro is pretty good about sampling parts so check them out.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
My suggestions are targeted toward an "embedded" hardware and software solution approach. Not RC specific where you are using an RC TX/RX to move your motors. Embedded means using a microcontroller (any kind) and the above approach takes advantage of the Zigbee wireless protocol and infrastructure that Texas Instruments is supporting. I believe that Motorola/Freescale has similar Zigbee wireless development kits.
