You may need to tap the nut to loosen the fitting. However, if it was over-tightened at some time, the carb may have been damaged, too. In that case, it's "good luck". You may need to use pliers to grab the carb and twist it out. That will usually wreck the carburetor, and you'll need a new carb body.
