UAT is certainly the way to go and the people who use a UAT are far less likely to have a fuel related flame out.

If there is one single item that has given reliability to turbine models then it's the UAT.

A UAT may be better than one of these ceramic thingies, but it is certainly NOT better than the pleated paper filter.

yea , never heard that before.
It has been a few years since this was explained. The filter acts as a fuel tension screen, once it is wet, air can not get through as long as some small portion is still in the fuel. This concept has been used in cruise missiles.
In the drawing below the system in placed in a 2 oz Sullivan tank, and should be let up right for best performance.
