RE: need help picking a new plane
traxxaspede,
One thing you need to remember is that the bigger plane (electric) you get, the more expensive the
motor and batteries are gonna be. My Electristar is 63in wingspan and weighs between 5 - 6 pounds.
It takes a minumum 3000 mah Ni-Hm 8.4v or a 3200 mah 20C lipo 7.4v ( times 2) there's no way a
3s 900mah lipo is gonna power something in your 50 inch palne you're looking for. Lipo's for my
plane cost around $75 a piece. Personally I come to the conclusion that I'll go electric for my park flyers
and my bigger planes will always be glow or gas. You get more air time out of the glow/gas when you
get into the bigger planes vs. electric, and the park flyer size fly very well and relatively cheap with the smaller
lipo's. And larger ESC's cost a bundle too.
Get a good glow . 40 size trainer and a good radio or go with the HZ Supercub, or park zone t-28 trojan
or the E-flight Apprentess(sp?) the later two are 4ch and come with better radios
Just my 2 cents
