I'll ditto what Hemicuda said. The bigger planes are better with gas/nitro, if you just want the fun of building a kit , check out Hobbyzone.com (hangar 9, Seagull, and world models), Hobbico.com, and Towerhobbies.com. But it will be hard to finish and fly a kit for the budget you have, and you can buy an Rtf glow trainer such as the Avistar for under $400. From what you have said about your experience and your budget, I would also reccomend a T-28, or a Corsair from parkzone. Both will out perform many of the smaller glow models, are easy to repair, and the Corsair comes with a radio that you could use in larger planes at a later date. Just my two cents as well!!
